Executive Director: Andrew Robinson
Even when growing up in Makkovik, a remote community on the northern Labrador coast, Andrew had an interest in energy. This led him to obtain a Bachelor's Degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Waterloo and eventually a Master's Degree in environmental studies (focused on energy in northern communities) from Toronto's York University. Andrew, a registered professional engineer, first joined the AEA team in 2004 to found the Community Energy Planning program.

Faye has lived and worked in Yellowknife since 1990. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Saskatchewan.

Program and Human Resources Assistant: Jennifer Wicks
Born and raised in Newfoundland, Jennifer moved to the Northwest Territories in the summer of 2000. She holds an Administrative Sciences College Diploma from Academy Canada in Newfoundland. She has also worked and studied in the field of Human Resources over the past few years. Jennifer started working at the Arctic Energy Alliance in August 2008 where she continues to learn and enjoys helping others.

CEP Coordinator: Kelsey Chegus
Kelsey has joined the AEA team to contribute to the community energy planning efforts in the NWT. Her dedication to promoting sustainable energy use has grown from her work experience with rural community development in Alberta and in Ghana, West Africa with Engineers Without Borders – Canada. She completed a BSc in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Alberta and her electives included Renewable Energy Engineering and Sustainability, Project Management, and Strategic Management and Organizational Design.

Inuvik Regional Energy Pathfinder: Russel Noksana
Russell was born and raised in Tuktoyaktuk and has lived all of his life in the North. He has worked throughout the NWT in construction, oil and gas, and as a superintendent for five years. Russell moved to Inuvik in 2007 to study Business Administration at Aurora College and continues his studies through online courses with Athabasca University and Aurora College. Prior to joining AEA, Russell worked as the finance officer for a Northern airline company for two years. |

Senior Program Manager: Mike Buchanan
Mike has worked in the energy management field for over 27 years, most of which has been in the North. Mike has extensive experience in conducting energy audits and coordinating energy related projects. Mike has a diploma in Energy Systems Technology and is certified as an Applied Science Technologist with the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of British Columbia.

Program Manager: John Carr
John is a professional engineer with LEED Professional Accreditation and also holds the Certified Energy Manager designation from the Association of Energy Engineers. John was raised in Yellowknife and returned after earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Alberta. He is passionate about assisting people to reduce their energy consumption and switch to renewable sources of energy.

An Electronics Engineering Technologist with twenty years experience, Mike Stuhec is a long term northerner with a passion for fine woodworking design and construction. Mike has been a Residential Energy Specialist since 2003 enhanced with AutoCAD drafting skills. Mike also continues to expand his knowledge with his interest in alternative and innovative energy technologies.

Energy Management Specialist: Linda Parker
Linda spent most of her life in Rural Western Australia. Growing up on a farm, she always had an interest in the environment, and understood the importance of sustainability.Linda is an Electrician, with a Diploma in Renewable Energy, and has spent the past four years living and working in the Outback West Australian Goldfields, designing and installing solar and wind power systems. She enjoys analyzing energy usage in different situations, and finding solutions to improve efficiency. She is looking forward to experiencing the Northwest Territories lifestyle.

Program Co-ordinator: Steve Outlet
Steve trained as a boat builder in New Brunswick, became a builder/renovator/cabinet maker when he moved north in 1982. Having spent so many winters in the north, Steve has developed a passion for nice snug housing and with his Dutch ancestry has an appreciation for saving energy and money. After working as an EGH evaluator for a few years Steve was hired on at AEA as Residential Energy Program coordinator for 2 years. After a year of travel with his family, he is back with AEA as a program co-ordinator. |

Program Co-ordinator: Nick Dennahower
Originally from Nova Scotia, Nick moved to Iqaluit, Nunavut in the autumn of 2002 after completing a BSc in Economics. While in Iqaluit, Nick held various positions including Nunavut Pathfinder under Indian and Northern Affairs Canada’s Aboriginal and Northern Community Action Program (ANCAP) at the Nunavut Research Institute. During this time he developed a strong appreciation of the benefits greenhouse gas mitigating techniques / technologies and renewable energy could offer the North. Nick is currently working on a second undergraduate degree (Mathematics) and certification in renewable energy and heat project analysis.

Communications Manager: Brad Heath
Brad has worked in the communications field for nearly 30 years – the majority of that time in the North. Since moving to the NWT in 1986, Brad has worked as a newspaper reporter and editor, freelance writer and photographer, and as a communications professional in the private, public and non-profit sectors including work with the Legislative Assembly of the NWT, Outcrop Group and NWT Literacy Council. |
